Tradition and modern sensibilities define HEREU's passion for handcrafted products. HEREU products are produced in communities that have been making leather goods for generations, and many of these factories across Spain have been family-run for decades, preserving precious skills. This translates into meticulous manufacturing processes and allows us to continue to create handmade products that are durable.

The inherited techniques include weaving and sewing, which require a huge amount of time to master, just like traditional leather processing techniques. Most of the production is done by hand by skilled craftsmen, so each craftsman can only produce a small amount in a day. Preserving these precious techniques is very important to HEREU.

HEREU's approach to craft is guided by tradition and defined by a contemporary aesthetic. The network of manufacturers producing HEREU products have been making leather goods for generations. Situated across Spain, many of these businesses are still owned by the same families, having been passed down over the years along with vital skills. This sense of lineage leads to thoughtful manufacturing approaches, allowing, in turn, for the handmade production of pieces with true longevity.

These approaches include traditional leatherworking, as well as specific weaving and stitching techniques that require a significant period of training in order to master. Much of the work is completed by hand, meaning that HEREU's partner artisans can only produce a small number of pieces per day. The preservation of these techniques is important to HEREU.
